Quick answer
Dusk Pewter Grey Contact Lenses are the quiet kind of grey contact lenses: deep charcoal at the center, softened with a smoky edge, so the iris looks calmer and more defined rather than costume-bright.
What the Shade Looks Like
In the close-up, the base is a rich charcoal grey that stays dark through the middle and opens into a lighter, misted grey toward the outer iris. A fine dot mesh blends the transition, so there is no hard ring — the edge blurs and fades. A small glossy crescent of light rests low in the iris and holds its place as you blink, and the surface picks up a soft sheen in daylight without turning glassy.
What to Wear With Grey
1. Soft neutrals. A cream cashmere crewneck, a camel wool coat and stone-grey trousers keep the grey warm — add small gold hoops and a tan leather bag.
2. Monochrome city. Black denim, a white cotton tee and a black leather jacket push it cooler; finish with a thin silver chain and matte black nails.
3. Cool-weather texture. A grey merino turtleneck over dark indigo denim, brushed silver rings and a sheer berry lip keeps it tonal.
Where They Fit
Office days, a weekend market, a long dinner, travel or a party — the shade fits all of them because it never reads as costume color.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, these are everyday contacts. The dark center stays quiet indoors and blends with bare skin and light makeup; in direct sun it reads deeper, so skip it if you want a pale, icy grey.
FAQ
Is it a true grey or closer to black? Grey, but a deep one — charcoal at the center, smoking out to lighter grey at the edge.
What colors go with it? Cream, camel, stone and oat keep it soft; black, white and silver make it cooler and more graphic.
Can I wear these grey contact lenses daily? Yes. The fine dot mesh and blurred rim keep the effect natural on a bare face.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
