Quick Answer
Dusk Graphite Grey Contact Lenses are the quiet end of the grey family: a deep black center fading into a fine dotted grey mesh — defined eyes, never costumed.
What the Shade Looks Like
The center is a soft black, deep and even, with no printed graphic over the pupil. It opens into a tight halftone dot mesh that slides from charcoal into a misty graphite grey. A glossy catchlight sits near the center. The detail I notice most is the edge: a defined dark rim that holds the round shape, then feathers into lighter grey.
What to Wear With Grey
Grey contact lenses this deep act like a black accessory, so keep everything around them muted.
-
Soft neutrals for daylight. Oatmeal knit, white tee, grey wool blazer, light-wash denim, silver studs.
-
Black on black for evening. Black satin slip dress, cropped leather jacket, sheer tights, gold hoops.
-
Warm contrast for fall. Camel coat, cream cable knit, tan leather boots, brass jewelry.
Where They Fit
Desk days, brunch, travel, and photos where you want your eyes to carry the frame. I keep makeup minimal: one coat of mascara, a brushed brow. Evening suits them too.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, these can be a daily pair, with one condition: they work with bare-face makeup, denim, and low-key jewelry, when the dark center sharpens the eye. Skip them when you want an invisible, no-lens look, or with loud color.
FAQ
Are these grey or black? Both. The center reads black, the mesh is grey, and the rim is deep charcoal — on the eye it lands as soft dark grey.
What should I wear with grey contact lenses? Cool neutrals, black, denim, and silver or gold metals — keep prints small.
Can I wear them every day? Yes, if you like a defined eye. If you prefer a bare look, save them for evenings and photos.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
