Quick answer
Daylight Sapphire Blue Contact Lenses are a deep, luminous jewel blue with a brighter aquamarine center and a softly defined rim. Keep the makeup bare and they read as everyday blue contact lenses.
What the Shade Looks Like
The close-up shows a deep sapphire base that goes nearly ink-dark at the outer edge and lifts into a glowing aquamarine around the pupil. The pattern is a fine micro-dot mesh, a halftone weave of tiny dots softening toward the rim. A darker blue rim finishes the outer edge without a harsh black ring. A soft window highlight sits on the surface in the photo and adds a glassy catch of light.
What to Wear With Sapphire Blue
-
Clean daylight neutrals: white cotton tee, light-wash straight-leg denim, oatmeal knit, plain silver hoops.
-
Navy on navy: navy silk slip dress or a deep-blue blazer over grey, with brushed gold jewelry.
-
Soft contrast: cream linen shirt, camel trench, fine black knit; keep lips sheer berry and skip blue shadow.
Where They Fit
Everyday errands, office days in neutral tailoring, coffee dates and travel photos. Treat blue contact lenses as an accent, not a costume.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one condition: keep the rest of the face quiet. The blue is saturated, so with minimal makeup it reads as a polished everyday lens, and it turns into a going-out color once you add a smoky eye.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
