Quick answer

Daylight Pewter Silver Contact Lenses are a cool silver-grey lens with a pearl-pale center and a soft mesh finish that blends over your own iris. If you want silver contact lenses that read as a quiet veil, this is the pair.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the ring around the pupil is the brightest point, a milky pearl-white. From there it becomes a fine dotted mesh of cool grey-silver with a whisper of blue, blurring outward. There is no dark outer rim, so the grey fades into the iris. Because the coverage stays soft, the warmth of your own brown eye glows through the middle, keeping the effect from looking flat.

What to Wear With Silver

1. White tee, blue denim, one silver chain. A crisp cotton tee, straight-leg jeans and white sneakers let the grey lead; keep cheeks bare.

2. Charcoal and cream for evening. A charcoal silk slip dress or black fine-knit turtleneck with cream wool trousers and brushed silver hoops.

3. Oatmeal and dove grey for work. An oatmeal linen shirt under a dove grey blazer with taupe trousers and matte silver studs.

Where They Fit

Monday at a desk, a Saturday coffee run, a long flight and a birthday dinner all suit this pair. The grey stays quiet indoors and opens up in daylight, so photos look cool rather than staged.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is an everyday pair. The mesh is diffused enough for a work call, and the pale center reads bright, not special-effect. One caveat: heavy black liner fights the cool grey, so keep eye makeup light.

FAQ

Are these really silver? Yes — a cool grey-silver base with a pearl-white center ring and a soft dotted mesh, not a solid block of color.

What should I wear with silver contact lenses? Cool neutrals: white, charcoal, cream, dove grey and denim, with silver jewelry to echo the tone.

Can I wear them every day? Yes. The blend is soft, so they stay believable; for nights out, keep the makeup clean.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
