Quick Answer

Dawn Prague Blue Contact Lenses bring that misty early-light blue into the iris. These are blue contact lenses for someone who wants the color noticed and the makeup quiet.

What the Shade Looks Like

The close-up shows blue sitting evenly through the center and mid iris at full coverage, with no dark outer rim and no hard edge. No printed dot grid or mesh sits over the color, so it reads as one smooth wash. The surface stays matte, with no mirrored gloss and just a faint window reflection. At the outer edge the blue thins and dissolves into the eye rather than stopping at a line.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Faded denim and white cotton. A worn denim jacket, a plain white tee, a grey scarf, silver studs.

2. Cream, oatmeal and camel. A ribbed cream knit, oatmeal linen trousers, a camel coat, gold hoops.

3. Charcoal, navy and black. A charcoal blazer over a black turtleneck, navy trousers, a thin silver ring.

Where They Fit

Daylight is their home: video calls, coffee runs, airport mornings, weekend photos by a window. Keep makeup minimal — skin tint, brushed brows, one coat of mascara — and let the blue carry the look.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one condition: the blue runs full across the iris, so heavy liner or bright shadow competes with it. In soft daylight with skin-tone makeup it looks natural; under warm bulbs it turns moodier.

FAQ

What color are these blue contact lenses? A cool, misty blue, even through the center and mid iris, with no dot pattern and no dark outer rim.

What should I wear with them? Faded denim and white, cream and camel, or charcoal and navy — calm matte layers let the blue work.

Can I wear them every day? Yes, for daylight and everyday plans, if your eye makeup stays light.

  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
