Quick Answer
Dawn Lisbon Silver Grey Contact Lenses are a cool, smoky grey with a fine dot-mesh print and a soft blended edge. They give a defined, slightly cool eye that still looks like your own.
What the Shade Looks Like
The base is a mid-grey with a pewter cast — cooler than silver, never blue. The center opens lighter over the pupil, the grey builds gently through the mid-iris, then feathers out. The print is a dense, even dot mesh: tiny dots, closely spaced, no streaks or fibers, which is why the color reads powdery instead of painted on. There is no hard outer ring; the edge diffuses toward the lash line, so the transition looks like a natural fade. The surface stays matte in the close-up.
What to Wear With Grey
Grey likes texture and a quiet palette.
-
Soft neutral knit. Oatmeal or ivory cashmere, off-white straight denim, suede loafers, a thin silver chain. Makeup stays light: tinted balm, brushed brows, taupe on the lid.
-
Cool tailoring. Charcoal blazer, pale blue poplin shirt, slate wool trousers, brushed-steel watch, white sneakers.
-
Quiet evening. Black silk slip dress, cropped leather jacket, gunmetal drop earrings, one soft sweep of black liner.
Where They Fit
Everyday first: office days, travel, errands, weekend photos, a low-key party, or a cosplay look that calls for a muted eye. The styling here stays clean and modern, not theatrical.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes. The mesh is fine and the edge soft, so in daylight the grey can pass as a naturally cool iris. It looks best with bare skin, tinted moisturizer or light no-makeup makeup, and it can fall flat under heavy dark liner or bold warm shadow.
FAQ
What color are these, exactly? A cool, smoky mid-grey with a pewter undertone and no blue cast — closer to soft silver than slate.
What should I wear with grey contact lenses? Neutrals with texture — oatmeal knits, charcoal tailoring, off-white denim, black silk — plus silver or gunmetal jewelry. Cool blues and greys flatter them; warm rusts fight them.
Are they subtle enough for daily wear? Yes, the fine dot pattern keeps the color soft. If you love graphic liner, keep it softer so the grey stays the focus.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
