Dark Tea Contact Lenses Are the Soft, Luminous Black Your Makeup Routine Has Been Missing
Some black lenses can feel a little intense — Dark Tea is the beautiful exception. This soft, light black shade is warmed with a subtle tea-brown undertone, so it defines your eyes without ever looking flat or harsh. Think of it as black’s softer, more wearable alter ego: polished enough for work, dreamy enough for date night, and endlessly photogenic in between.
What makes Dark Tea so addictive is the way it brightens your whole face. The deep-but-gentle tone makes the whites of your eyes look clearer and your gaze look instantly more awake, while the soft edge melts into your natural eye color for that effortless “my eyes but better” effect. Whether you’re wearing barely-there daily makeup or a full soft-glam moment with warm eyeshadow and fluttery lashes, these lenses pull everything together and make your eye makeup look more expensive.
And for photos? Dark Tea is a quiet overachiever. The gentle black tone catches light beautifully on camera, adding depth and dimension to your eyes without stealing the scene. Selfies, portraits, golden-hour shots — your eyes stay glossy, defined, and full of life in every frame. If you’ve been searching for black contact lenses that feel natural, luminous, and a little bit luxurious, Dark Tea is about to become the finishing touch you reach for every single time.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
