Quick Answer

Cyan Reef Blue Contact Lenses are a vivid aqua blue pair — pale cyan through the center, deeper blue toward a defined outer rim — and they make the eye the coolest note in a look.

What the Shade Looks Like

The graphic shows a clear central opening ringed by pale cyan, then a deeper blue mid-zone that builds toward the edge. Fine dot-print texture gives that ring an airy grain instead of a flat wash.

The outer rim is a defined darker blue, even and continuous, and on the eye it separates the blue tone from the white of the eye. A bright crescent highlight sits at the upper left of the lens; worn, it reads as a wet catchlight.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Crisp daylight. White linen or poplin, light-wash straight denim, silver hoops, canvas tote. Silver reads cooler than gold here.

2. Evening contrast. Black slip dress or charcoal satin tailoring, brushed silver hardware, nude lip. Let the blue be the only bright note.

3. Tonal layering. Pale aqua, sky blue, or icy grey knits with pearl or matte silver accents. Cool tones make the blue look intentional.

Where They Fit

Flash photos, birthday dinners, festival nights, and themed parties flatter this saturation. Cosplay is another easy fit. On office days, keep skin bare and the outfit neutral.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one caveat: this is high-impact color, so it works on days when you want the eyes to lead. Keep brows simple and clothes neutral. If you want subtle, this isn’t that pair.

FAQ

Can I wear them every day? Style-wise, yes. Keep makeup quiet and clothing neutral so the blue stays deliberate.

  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
