Quick answer

Cyan Lagoon Blue Contact Lenses give a vivid aqua-blue wash with a light cyan center and a darker teal edge. If you want high-impact blue contact lenses with a cool, graphic finish, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the lens reads as a bold aqua blue. A clear center opening sits inside a pale cyan zone, then the blue builds through the mid-iris into a deeper aqua tone. The graphic lens carries a fine dot-matrix print; on the eye the texture softens and the color looks smooth and even. A slightly darker teal-blue rim traces the outer edge and frames the brighter middle. A soft white highlight sits on the surface, and the worn eye shows a small catchlight.

What to Wear With Blue

Cool metals and clean fabrics keep the focus on the eyes.

1. Icy Minimal — Silver satin slip dress, pale gray blazer, brushed silver hoops.

2. Soft Contrast — Cream ribbed knit, light-wash denim, tan suede jacket.

3. Night Out — Black leather jacket, charcoal trousers, silver chain necklace.

Where They Fit

These blue contact lenses work for weekend errands, creative office days, travel photos, birthday parties, and cosplay styling. On a denim-and-white-tee day they read intentional, not loud. For a party, let them be the only color in the look.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with a caveat. They are everyday-friendly blue contact lenses when you want a bright, cool accent — denim, gray, white, and silver all cooperate. Skip them for a conservative office or a soft neutral makeup day; the aqua reads bold in daylight.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
