Quick answer
Cottage Morning Azure Blue Contact Lenses are a soft denim blue with a fine dotted mesh and a gentle rim. If you want believable blue contact lenses for daylight and real outfits, this is the pair.
What the Shade Looks Like
The close-up reads denim, not neon. A pale blue haze sits around the pupil, then a fine halftone dot pattern builds density outward and deepens into a soft navy-grey rim. Up close you see the dots; at arm’s length they melt into iris texture. A small wet highlight sits where the light hits, so the surface never looks flat.
What to Wear With Blue
Denim blue is muted and cool, so it likes soft fabrics and quiet metals.
-
Oatmeal and denim: cream ribbed knit, straight-leg light jeans, tan belt, small gold hoops.
-
Quiet office: charcoal wool blazer, dove grey tee, black trousers, brushed silver studs.
-
Evening cool: black satin slip dress, cropped leather jacket, thin silver chain.
Where They Fit
Desk days, errands, coffee runs, long train rides. They also suit a low-key party, a birthday dinner, travel portraits, or a styling shoot where you want cool blue eyes without a costume.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes. The halftone edge is soft enough for a bare face, tinted moisturizer, and one coat of mascara. It drifts toward stage territory if you pile on heavy contour, graphic liner, and a deep red lip.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
