Quick Answer

Copenhagen Dusk Olive Brown Contact Lenses bring a warm golden-olive brown with a defined dark rim. It is a wearable, faintly earthy take on brown contact lenses, not a flat uniform brown.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, a thin golden-yellow ring sits at the pupil edge, then melts into a muted olive-brown mid-iris.

Fine radial striations run through that middle zone, softened by a light dotted mesh print.

A glossy highlight crosses the upper iris with a small catchlight near the pupil, so light lands in a wet, glassy way.

The outer rim is a defined dark brown-to-black band with a slightly soft inner edge, enough to frame the eye without a hard circle. Coverage reads moderate to full, strongest mid-iris and a bit more open near the pupil.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Warm Neutrals. Cream linen, a camel wool coat, tan suede boots, and brushed gold hoops pull the golden center forward.

2. Deep Evening Tones. A chocolate satin slip dress, olive blazer, bronze liner, and a slim gold chain lean into the olive cast.

3. Cool Contrast. A slate grey blazer, white tee, and silver hoops sharpen the gold by setting cool tones beside it.

Where They Fit

These suit class, errands, and office days when your outfit already reads warm. They also hold up in travel photos, dinner parties, and earthy cosplay or festival looks. For a night out, add bronze liner and let the dark rim do the framing.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — these work as everyday brown contact lenses. With everyday mascara and a neutral lip they look intentional, not costume. Skip them for ultra-bare days or interviews where you want no attention on your eyes, since the gold ring and dark rim do show up close.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A golden olive brown: a gold ring at the pupil, a muted olive-brown mid-iris, and a dark brown-to-black rim.

What should I wear with them? Cream, camel, chocolate, and olive are the easiest matches. Gold jewelry flatters the warm center; silver and grey sharpen the contrast.

Can brown contact lenses be worn every day? Yes for most daily looks. If you want a shade nobody notices, pick a plainer brown — the gold ring here is meant to be seen.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
