Quick Answer
Comet Silk Blue Contact Lenses are a low-saturation grey-blue with a fine starry speckle, and they flatter soft glam makeup instead of shouting over it. If you want blue contact lenses that read as a polished evening upgrade, start here.
What the Shade Looks Like
The base is muted slate blue with a grey undertone, so it never turns electric. Color builds from the pupil and opens into a fine dotted mesh that spreads across the iris. There is no hard outer rim and no black edge — the blue feathers toward the lash line instead of stopping on a line. The overall finish is soft and satin.
What to Wear With Blue
Blue this quiet plays best with warm neutrals and soft metals.
-
Bridal and evening: a champagne silk slip dress, a fine gold chain, cream heels, hair in a low chignon. Blend taupe and bronze shadow, add fluttery lashes, and let the grey-blue be the cool note.
-
Work and dinner: a slate blazer over a white silk shell, straight-leg trousers, silver hoops and a slim leather bag. Cool grey next to blue makes the lens look intentional.
-
Weekend and travel: an oatmeal knit, straight-leg denim, a camel coat and gold hoops. The muted blue echoes the denim without doubling down on it.
Where They Fit
These suit soft glam weather: bridal portraits, prom, dinners and studio beauty shoots. They also hold up at a desk or on a flight, because the low-saturation blue stays calm in daylight. For costume nights, treat them as a base and let a wig and heavier liner push them toward character.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one rule. Worn daily they read as a quiet cool lift as long as the rest of your makeup stays blended: soft brows, taupe shadow, mascara. Heavy black liner or glitter tips them into evening — fun for a party, a lot for a 9 a.m. meeting.
FAQ
What color are these blue contact lenses? A low-saturation grey-blue with a fine speckled mesh across the iris and a soft, rimless edge.
What should I wear with them? Warm neutrals and cool greys both work: champagne silk for evening, a slate blazer over a white shell for work, an oatmeal knit and denim on weekends.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
