Quick answer

Coastal Dawn Azure Blue Contact Lenses are blue contact lenses with a soft azure blend and a feathered edge — a quiet everyday blue rather than a loud statement color.

What the Shade Looks Like

The close-up shows a true blue base with a cool, faintly grey undertone. Around the pupil the field stays light and open, then deepens into a mid-blue that spreads across the iris. The shift is gradual rather than ringed: no dark rim, no hard outer line — the blue feathers into the natural iris edge. The finish reads smooth and low-shine.

What to Wear With Blue

  1. Cream and denim. An oatmeal knit, straight-leg jeans, a tan belt and small gold hoops. Warm neutrals keep the cool blue daytime.
  2. Navy on navy. A navy slip dress or a fine-gauge navy crewneck, a slim black blazer, silver earrings.
  3. Camel and ink. A camel coat, an ivory tee, dark denim and brown suede boots — the blue lands as the one cool note.

Where They Fit

These belong to daylight: a desk day, a Saturday market, travel photos, a casual dinner. Keep makeup minimal — sheer base, brushed brows, tinted balm. Parties and cosplay suit them as a soft blue accent, not a character look.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one honest note. The blue is visible in daylight, so it suits anyone who wants a soft tint on camera. If you want a completely bare, no-makeup eye, this is more color than you are after.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A cool azure blue with a faint grey undertone; the center stays open around the pupil and the blue builds outward.

What should I wear with blue contact lenses? Cream, oatmeal, camel, navy and black all work; skip bright turquoise unless you want the blue doubled.

Are these blue contact lenses good for everyday? Yes, as a soft everyday tint — best in natural light with minimal makeup.

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.
  • Don't use saline solution for contact lens cleaning or disinfection.
  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
