Quick Answer

Cloud Halo Chestnut Brown Contact Lenses are a soft-glam brown lens: deep chestnut at the center feathering into a lighter warm brown, so the eye reads blended, not stamped.

What the Shade Looks Like

The center sits dark chestnut around the pupil, then loosens into a lighter, warmer brown at the outer edge. A fine printed dot-mesh carries color across the iris, so there’s no drawn ring and no hard border. There’s no built-in gloss and no dark rim; the edge just fades out.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Champagne Satin for Evening. A champagne satin slip dress, gold hoops, and a nude lip keep the warm brown polished rather than orange.

2. Cream and Camel for Day. An oatmeal knit under a camel wool coat with chocolate suede boots, layered without matching.

3. All-Black With Bronze. A black column dress or a blazer over a silk camisole, with bronze shadow and gold jewelry so the soft edge looks deliberate.

Where They Fit

Wedding guest makeup, rehearsal dinners, prom photos, and camera-ready evenings, where the brief is blended shadow and fluttery lashes. They also suit office days, brunch, and travel, reading as a deeper, polished version of your own brown.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one caveat. The diffused edge suits blended makeup and doesn’t need heavy liner. Want a sharp, high-contrast iris with a defined ring? This pair will feel too quiet. Keep the makeup soft and it stays wearable.

FAQ

Is it brown or grey-brown? These are brown contact lenses first: dark chestnut in the center opening into a lighter warm brown.

What makeup works best? Blended neutrals: taupe or bronze shadow, smudged liner, a nude or brown-pink lip. Skip graphic liner and icy highlighter.

Can I wear them on a weekday? Yes, if you’re happy with a blended, dressed-up eye. It’s a dinner-after-work lens, not a graphic one.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
