Quick answer
Chrome Sapphire Blue Contact Lenses are a deep, cool sapphire with a fine dotted mesh and a lighter center that deepens outward. Verdict: pure Y2K flash-photo glam, no costume required.
What the Shade Looks Like
The base is a true sapphire blue — saturated, cool, faintly icy. Evenly spaced dots cover the whole lens field, so the color stays crisp instead of smudgy. Around the pupil the blue lifts into a lighter, watery center, then deepens toward the edge for a real gradient. There is no heavy dark ring; the blue just softens at the rim, which keeps the finish open rather than outlined.
What to Wear With Blue
-
Mall-glam denim: low-rise bootcut jeans, a cropped white ribbed tank, a grey zip hoodie, silver hoops. Cool metals only.
-
Frosted party layers: an icy blue satin slip dress, a cropped cardigan, metallic sandals, thin brows and clear gloss.
-
Soft daytime: a cream knit, mid-wash straight jeans, white sneakers, one thin gold chain to warm the blue.
Where They Fit
Photo booths, birthday dinners, mall runs, a Y2K night out, concert pictures — anywhere a flash pops. They also suit parties and cosplay looks where the eyes carry the frame.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with styling. Keep the rest of the face soft — frosted shadow, sheer base, glossy lip — and the outfit in white, grey, denim and pale blue. Skip them on bare-face days or in a conservative workplace.
FAQ
What color are these blue contact lenses? A saturated sapphire blue over a fine dotted mesh, lighter near the pupil and deeper at the edge, with no heavy dark rim.
What should I wear with them? Denim, white, grey, silver and pale lilac. Low-rise jeans, a cropped tank and cool jewelry is the easiest formula.
Are they everyday? Yes if your makeup stays soft; heavy black liner pushes them toward party or cosplay.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
