Quick answer

Cherry Flash Red Contact Lenses lay an even, saturated cherry red over the iris with a soft outer fade and no dark ring — clean and graphic, never smoky. If you want red contact lenses that act like a flash-photo filter for your eyes, this is the pair.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, the color is a deep cherry red with real weight. The pupil opening stays clear, the red builds fast through the center, and it holds strong across the mid-field before easing toward the outer edge. No charcoal rim, no glitter, no printed motif — just evenly pigmented color on a matte-leaning surface that does not throw a white highlight. Daylight pushes it bright and slightly warm; indoor light deepens it toward wine.

What to Wear With Red

1. Y2K denim and frost. Low-rise bootcut jeans, a cropped baby tee, a shrunken denim jacket, silver hoops, butterfly clips. Frosty highlight, glossy nude-pink lip.

2. Black satin, gold hardware. A slip dress or satin midi, a thin gold chain, berry gloss, bare lids.

3. Soft daylight neutrals. Cream knit, stone-wash denim, tan leather, brown mascara, clear gloss.

Where They Fit

Concerts, birthday dinners, house parties, flash-photo shoots, Y2K-themed nights, and Halloween or cosplay looks for a red-eyed character.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — with one honest rule. With denim, silver and gloss they read as intentional on an ordinary Tuesday. In a beige, conservative office they will always look like a statement, so save them for the weekend.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
