Quick answer

Candlelight Azure Blue Contact Lenses are blue contact lenses made for soft glam: a hazy azure wash over the iris and a crisp navy edge. Put simply, they make a blended eye look finished, not costumed.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up, the base is a hazy mid-tone azure blue. Color stays clear over the pupil and diffuses outward, so the pupil-to-center transition stays soft and blurred. A fine printed dot mesh builds density through the middle of the iris, and a deep navy rim frames the eye like a drawn line. There is no mirror shine — the finish reads smooth and quiet.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Evening polish. A champagne satin slip dress, a slim gold chain, and a soft smoky brown eye keep azure as the only cool note.

2. Cool daytime tailoring. A slate grey blazer, a white tee, straight-leg denim, brushed silver hoops, and a berry lip; the navy rim echoes grey and denim.

3. Bridal and prom soft glam. Ivory lace or a blush gown, pearl studs, blended taupe shadow, fluttery lashes, and glowing skin.

Where They Fit

Anywhere the light flatters: a rehearsal dinner, an evening wedding, prom photos, or a studio shoot where the eye should read blue on camera. They also suit a styled cosplay or party look with soft makeup.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one condition. With neutral makeup — taupe shadow, mascara, a nude lip — the azure looks polished at the office or over brunch. Skip them for bare-faced errands; the navy rim wants makeup around it.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A hazy mid-tone azure blue with a deep navy rim. The center stays soft and diffused, and the printed dot mesh keeps the color from looking flat.

What should I wear with blue contact lenses? Warm neutrals: champagne satin, cream knit, slate grey, ivory lace, plus small gold or silver jewelry and a lip close to your natural tone.

Can I wear them every day? Yes for work, brunch, and travel with soft makeup, but not with a fully bare face.

Contact Lens Care Guidelines

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
