Quick Answer

Butterfly Clip Caramel Brown Contact Lenses are a warm, saturated brown pair with a soft outer edge. In short: they add depth and warmth like good light, not a hard block.

What the Shade Looks Like

The close-up shows a full, even brown across the iris. The center is deepest, easing into a lighter chestnut mid-field and diffusing at the outer edge with no black rim, no charcoal ring, no printed graphic. Texture is soft diffusion, not a visible dot mesh, so natural iris detail stays readable. Any gleam comes from the eye, not a printed highlight.

What to Wear With Brown

Keep the face in 2000s spirit: frosty highlight, glossy lips, thin brows.

1. Low-Rise Denim + Baby Tee: dark indigo jeans, cropped white ribbed tee, silver belt, chunky sneakers.

2. Butterfly Clips + Slip Dress: butter-yellow satin slip, thin clips, clear gloss, slim shoulder bag.

3. Chocolate Velour + Gold Hoops: matching velour set, gold hoops, frosty pink inner-corner highlight.

Where They Fit

This brown contact lens moves from desk to dinner. At work, pair it with a neutral knit. On travel days, it adds depth to bare-face looks. For parties and Y2K nights, it holds up under flash. Cosplay styling also works.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, this is genuinely everyday-friendly. It gives a warmer, richer eye without a dramatic circle-lens edge, and it stays believable in daylight. Skip it only when you want a bare look — coverage is full up close.

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
