Quick Answer

Butter Gloss Amber Brown Contact Lenses blend warm amber-brown with a seamless edge, so the effect reads like good lighting rather than a color swap. For brown contact lenses with 2000s pop-glam energy, start here.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a medium warm brown that holds from the center through the mid field, then feathers into a softer haze. No dark rim rings the eye, and the close-up shows no dots or mesh — the surface reads smooth and evenly pigmented.

What to Wear With Brown

  1. Low-Rise Denim and a Baby Tee: light-wash low-rise jeans, a ribbed white tee, a silver chain belt, frosted peach shadow.
  2. Chocolate Velour and Gold Hoops: a brown velour zip jacket, gold hoops, a liner softened at the center.
  3. Champagne Slip and Frosty Highlight: a satin slip, silver hoops, frosted highlighter, butterfly clips at the front.

Where They Fit

Desk days, brunch and travel are easy. They also hold in flash-photo moments: birthday dinners, roller rink nights and Y2K parties. Cosplay works for a soft leading-lady look.

Everyday Wear: Yes

This is an everyday yes — the blend is smooth, the brown is believable in daylight, and no busy pattern fights your makeup. Skip them only if your wardrobe leans strictly ash or icy blue.

FAQ

What color are these brown contact lenses? A warm amber-brown with an even mid field and a soft, seamless edge.

What should I pair with them? Light-wash denim keeps it fresh, chocolate velour and gold make it richer, and champagne satin goes full flash-photo.

Can I wear them daily? Yes — the surface is smooth with no dot or mesh texture, so they read as a polished everyday brown.

Contact Lens Care Guidelines

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.
  • Don't use saline solution for contact lens cleaning or disinfection.
  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
