Quick Answer

Bruges Haze Brown Contact Lenses are a milky, soft-focus brown that reads like your own iris in better light. If you want brown contact lenses that stay believable in daylight, this is the quiet kind — warm in the center, hazy at the edge, never costume-dramatic.

What the Shade Looks Like

Up close, the center is a light milky brown that sits over the pupil without looking chalky, then deepens into a soft cocoa-tan haze across the mid-iris. It looks like light coming through the eye rather than color painted on top.

The pigment is smooth — no dot mesh, no speckled ring — and there is no hard dark rim, just a soft edge that dissolves into the outer iris. No mirrored gloss either, so photos show your eye, not the lens.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Oatmeal and denim. Oatmeal cashmere, ivory denim, tan loafers, small brushed-gold hoops.

2. Charcoal and silver. A charcoal silk slip or black ribbed knit with a silver cuff and a black kitten heel.

3. Olive and cream. An olive utility jacket, a cream tee, a brown leather belt and a canvas tote.

Where They Fit

This is a daylight lens: coffee runs, office days, long train rides, a museum afternoon, dinner with barely-there makeup. For a party or cosplay it works as the neutral base under heavier liner, while the makeup carries the drama.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, plainly. The center reads like your own iris and the edge is soft enough that nobody clocks it in daylight. It only starts looking styled once you add a wing or a bold lip.

FAQ

What color are these brown contact lenses?
A milky light brown in the center that fades into cocoa-tan — warm and natural, not dark chocolate or grey.

What should I wear with them?
Oatmeal, cream and camel keep them natural; charcoal, black and silver give a cooler contrast.

Are they good for everyday wear?
Yes. The blend is soft and the tone sits close to a real brown iris, so workdays, errands and travel all suit them.

Contact Lens Care Guidelines

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.

  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
