Quick answer

Bruges Crystal Cocoa Brown Contact Lenses are a soft mocha brown with a fine stippled print and a dark defined rim — natural for daytime, polished in photos.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a muted warm mocha brown with a soft taupe cast. The clear center opens into a stippled gray-brown ring that warms to amber brown and deepens toward the mid-periphery. Coverage is medium to full, with a little natural iris light coming through.

The print is a fine, dense dot matrix — tiny specks, not a solid wash. A dark brown-to-black rim circles the lens in a clean, rounded line and acts as the defining edge, never the dominant color. A curved gloss highlight sits upper right.

What to Wear With Brown

1. Oatmeal layers. Chunky oatmeal cardigan, cream silk camisole, ecru denim, brushed gold hoops.

2. Chocolate monochrome. Espresso knit midi dress, camel wool coat, brown leather boots, matte bronze jewelry.

3. Black and silver. Black slip dress, cropped leather jacket, silver hoops, slicked-back bun.

Where They Fit

They suit desk days, coffee runs, travel, and low-key date nights, plus party or cosplay looks that want definition without a costume.

Everyday Wear: Yes

This is a practical everyday brown. It reads soft in daylight and a little richer indoors, and the dark rim keeps it from disappearing on the eye.

FAQ

What color are these brown contact lenses? A soft mocha brown with a taupe cast, a stippled dot print, and a dark outer rim.

What should I pair with them? Oatmeal, cream, and camel keep the warmth going; black and silver make the rim pop.

Can I wear them every day? Yes, for most everyday plans — coverage is medium to full, so they read as a styling choice rather than an invisible one.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
