Quick Answer
Breeze Moon Black Contact Lenses give full-coverage black with a fine dotted mesh and a softly diffused rim, so the iris reads deep and defined instead of flat. If you want black contact lenses that still look like a real eye in daylight, start here.
What the Shade Looks Like
The close-up tells the story. The center is a dense, saturated black that never drifts grey or brown, and a fine dot pattern spreads across the surface like a soft mesh. That texture keeps the black from going flat.
Toward the outer edge the dots loosen and the color feathers into a quiet haze, then a thin dark rim closes the shape with a soft boundary rather than a hard ring.
What to Wear With Black
These lenses are a styling choice, not a color change, so the outfit sets the volume.
-
Soft neutrals. White cotton tee, oatmeal linen blazer, ecru wide-leg trousers, thin silver chain.
-
Sharp monochrome. Black silk slip dress, tailored charcoal blazer, leather belt, brushed gold hoops.
-
Warm contrast. Ivory ribbed knit, camel trench, tan suede boots, brass cuff.
Where They Fit
Office days, travel days, and photo sessions are the sweet spot: the dense black reads polished on camera without going theatrical. Parties and dinners work too. On a bare no-makeup morning, I leave them in the case.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one condition — full coverage looks intentional. With concealer, mascara, and a neutral outfit, it reads as a confident, deliberate eye. With nothing but sunscreen at the beach, it can feel like too much.
FAQ
Are these truly black? Yes — a saturated black center with a dotted mesh texture and a soft-feathered edge, not a brown that darkens in low light.
What pairs with black contact lenses? White, cream, oatmeal, camel, and head-to-toe black. Silver flatters cool whites; gold flatters cream.
Can I wear them every day? Most days, yes. The dot pattern keeps them natural in daylight. If your style is minimal, save them for high-contrast days.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
