Quick Answer

Larkspur Bloom Blue Contact Lenses give one clean hit of soft-glam color. My verdict: these blue contact lenses read cool and even in daylight, then glow under warm dinner light.

What the Shade Looks Like

In the close-up the color is a true, cool blue with an icy lean — deeper than sky, not teal or navy. The center opens clear and the blue arrives quickly, so the shift into color looks clean rather than smoky. The field is even and smooth rather than drawn-on or glittered, and there is no hard dark rim: the blue simply softens at the outer edge. The finish is satin-matte, with no mirror shine.

What to Wear With Blue

1. Evening polish: a silk slip dress in champagne, bone, or gunmetal, thin gold hoops, a satin clutch. Warm metallics keep the blue from going cold.

2. Soft bridal: an ivory column gown or a blush bridesmaid dress with pearl studs. The blue stays a quiet accent, not a statement.

3. Off-duty denim: a white tee, straight-leg jeans, a camel trench, silver hoops, a leather tote.

Where They Fit

Dinners, weddings, engagement photos, birthdays, and studio beauty shoots — anywhere the light is warm and the pictures matter. A cool-toned cosplay look can work around them too.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, with one condition. Keep the rest of your face soft — neutral shadow, mascara, a glossy nude lip — and the blue behaves like a polished accessory. Heavy graphic liner turns it into an evening look instead.

FAQ

What color are these blue contact lenses? A cool, icy blue, clear at the center and full at the edge, with no dark rim.

Which outfits suit them? Champagne, ivory, grey, and camel flatter the blue; gold and silver both work.

Are they everyday lenses? Yes for most days when the makeup stays soft; save the heavy liner for evenings.

Contact Lens Care Guidelines

  • We recommend a rub and rinse before soaking soft lenses for a minimum of 6 hours in their container.
  • Don't wear contact lenses overnight.
  • Don't wear your contact lenses in the shower or while swimming.
  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.
  • Don't use saline solution for contact lens cleaning or disinfection.
  • Replace your contact lens case every two to three months.
  • Take out your contacts if they are bothering you.
  • Never use saliva as a wetting agent.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
