Quick answer

Bare Willow Green Contact Lenses are a soft willow green with a fine dotted mesh that reads natural in daylight. These are green contact lenses for a quiet upgrade, not a costume.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a soft willow green with a grey-olive lean. Around the pupil the color opens lighter and slightly translucent, then deepens across the middle of the iris. The pattern is a dense micro-dot mesh — fine speckles, not a printed graphic — so the green blends with the iris instead of sitting on top of it. The outer edge stays soft: no hard black rim, just a gentle deepening at the border. A quiet gloss catches light, and the highlight holds its placed arc along the lower edge.

What to Wear With Green

1. Cream and oatmeal. An ivory linen shirt, wide-leg oatmeal trousers, and a tan leather bag. Warm metals — brushed gold, brass — flatter the olive undertone, so finish with a bare lip and one coat of brown mascara.

2. Grey and denim. A charcoal blazer, a plain white tee, straight-leg jeans. Silver-tone earrings, a black belt, a canvas tote; grey pulls the green cooler and cleaner.

3. Camel and chocolate. A camel coat, a chocolate knit, cream denim. Gold hoops and a soft berry lip carry the green into evening.

Where They Fit

Desk days, client meetings, travel days, birthday dinners, and soft-light photos. They can support a woodland or cosplay look too, though this pair doesn’t need a character to work.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes, these are everyday lenses. The tone is muted, the mesh is fine, and the edge is soft, so the green reads natural in office light and daylight. They work best with neutral clothing and a light eye look. For a loud, vivid green, look to another shade.

FAQ

What color are these lenses? A muted willow green over a grey-olive base, dotted from the center out and softly darker at the edge.

What should I wear with green contact lenses? Cream, oatmeal, camel, grey, and denim. Warm metals suit the olive undertone; silver reads cooler.

Can I wear them daily? Yes, if you like a low-contrast green. They suit work and daytime better than a high-drama green would.

  • Don't reuse contact lens solution.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
