Quick answer
Amber Linen Brown Contact Lenses are a warm, soft-focus brown that melts from the pupil outward with no hard edge, an easy everyday pick for neutral outfits and soft glam makeup.
What the Shade Looks Like
The close-up shows a warm chocolate brown with a lighter sandy center. Your pupil dissolves into that mid-tone through a soft, blurred transition, so the color never looks stamped on. Toward the edge the brown contact lenses feather out gently, with no dark rim framing the iris, and the surface stays evenly diffused — no printed graphic, no crisp dot line, no glossy spot. Think sun-warmed linen rather than a sharp graphic lens.
What to Wear With Brown
1. Cream and camel. A chunky cream knit with camel wide-leg trousers keeps the palette tonal; add plain gold hoops and a tan leather bag.
2. Olive and brass. An olive satin slip dress or army-green chore jacket with brushed brass earrings pulls the amber side of the shade forward.
3. Denim and espresso. Mid-blue denim, an espresso leather jacket and a soft brown lip keep the whole look grounded and weekend-ready.
Where They Fit
Office days, travel days, coffee runs, birthday dinners and portrait sessions. For a party or a cosplay look where you want soft brown eyes instead of a cartoon effect, this shade still reads natural in photos.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes. It looks finished with nothing but mascara and a tinted balm, and it holds up under a soft glam eye too. Where it is not the star: heavy graphic liner and high-contrast black accents, which fight the soft blend.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
