Quick answer
Afterparty Frost Azure Blue Contact Lenses are a clear-center blue that blooms outward with no hard rim, so the shade reads vivid in flash photos without tipping into costume. These are the blue contact lenses I reach for when a look needs 2000s pop-glam energy.
What the Shade Looks Like
Up close, the base is a bright soda blue. The middle stays clear around the pupil, then the blue builds outward in an even, smooth wash rather than a dotted print. No dark rim rings the outside, so the color dissolves into the natural iris instead of outlining it. There is no glossy highlight on the surface — the finish is frosted and matte, like blue eyeshadow shot with direct flash.
What to Wear With Blue
-
Low-rise denim and frost. Low-rise bootcut jeans, a white baby tee, an open denim jacket, silver hoops and frosted silver eyeshadow.
-
Babydoll slip and butterfly clips. An icy slip dress over a sheer cardigan, clear pink gloss and two small clips holding hair back.
-
Afterparty chrome. A silver mini skirt, a mesh top, a metallic bag, slim black boots and a thin choker.
Where They Fit
Weekend parties, birthday dinners, photo booths, campus and travel — anywhere you want one loud note. In cosplay makeup it reads as a soft blue with no hard edge.
Everyday Wear: Yes
Yes, with one condition: the clear center and soft edge keep the pair looking like a styling choice, so jeans, a tee and gloss are enough on a Tuesday. A fully pigmented blue is still the boldest thing in a neutral outfit, so a formal event isn’t its moment.
FAQ
What color are these, exactly? A bright azure blue with a clear center, an even fade outward and no visible rim.
What should I wear with blue contact lenses? Low-rise denim and frosted makeup for Y2K, or an icy slip dress and gloss; silver, white and pale blue flatter the shade.
Are they an everyday pair? Yes by day, as long as the blue stays the one bold element in your outfit.

Understanding Your Prescription
-
Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
- OD - Right Eye
- OS - Left Eye
- OU - Both Eyes
-
SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
-
BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
-
DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)
Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses
Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:
-
CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
-
AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)
Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes
- Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
- BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
