Quick Answer

Afterglow Mist Grey Contact Lenses are a soft, clouded grey that stays quiet in daylight and turns smoky under flash — an everyday pair with 2000s pop-glam energy.

What the Shade Looks Like

The base is a true mist grey: hazy, slightly milky, cool-toned rather than flat silver or hard charcoal. Around the pupil the color sits deepest, then a fine dot-mesh texture softens outward and thins into a pale grey haze. A subtle darker rim frames the iris, which is what keeps grey contact lenses looking defined instead of washed out.

Flash photography catches one small highlight, and that’s the detail that makes them pop in pictures.

What to Wear With Mist Grey

1. Low-rise denim and white cotton. Light-wash low-rise jeans, a cropped white tee, a thin silver chain, clear gloss.

2. Frosty glam. A baby tee or slip dress in pale pink or icy lilac with frosted eyeshadow, glossy lips, butterfly clips and silver hoops.

3. Soft tailoring. Grey wool trousers, a charcoal blazer, a cream silk shirt, small gold hoops for a polished, office-ready read.

Where They Fit

Classes, errands and desk days all work, because grey is easy to leave alone. They also shine in travel photos, at dinner, on party flash, and on any 2000s-themed night. Cosplay is optional: a grey-white wig or silver choker sits comfortably beside them.

Everyday Wear: Yes

Yes — this is an everyday lens. Mist grey is soft enough for daylight and work, and it only turns dramatic when you add frosty shadow, gloss and a statement clip.

FAQ

What color are these grey contact lenses? A mist grey — hazy and cool-toned, with a deeper center and a soft rim.

What pairs with mist grey lenses? Low-rise light denim and white cotton by day; pale pink or lilac with frosted shadow and gloss for Y2K nights.

Can you wear them every day? Yes — the fine mesh softens the iris edge, so the finish reads natural in daylight and smoky only under flash.

Typical Contact Lens Prescription

Eye Power/SPH BC DIA CYL
OD (Right) -2.25 8.8 14.0 -1.25
OS (Left) -3.00 8.8 14.0 -1.25

Understanding Your Prescription

  • Eye - Which eye the prescription line item is for:
    • OD - Right Eye
    • OS - Left Eye
    • OU - Both Eyes
  • SPH - Sphere (this can also be referred to as Power or PWR)
  • BC - Base Curve (usually a number between 8 and 10)
  • DIA - Diameter (usually a number between 13 and 15)

Toric (Astigmatism Correcting) Lenses

Some patients require lenses that are toric or astigmatism correcting. Prescriptions for these types of lenses will also contain two additional numbers that relate to the correction of the astigmatism. These two numbers are usually separated by an "X" and read as "times", they are indicated with the following symbols/abbreviations:

  • CYL - Cylinder (usually a number between -4.00 and +4.00)
  • AX - Axis (usually a number between 0 and 180)

Additional Contact Lens Prescription Notes

  • Your prescription will also contain an expiration date. This is typically one year from the date that the contact lenses were fitted.
  • BC values range from about 8.0 to 10.0. The doctor fits the lens with the curvature most appropriate for your eye. Most lenses come in several different BC values. If your prescription does not contain a BC value, this is likely because your brand of lens only comes in one base curve.
